Progress Report

Our group, which consist of myself, Nick, Sal, and Mahon, were given the task of helping a well-known company either start or continue expansion internationally. As a group we chose the company Wal-Mart, and were looking for new areas of expansion, since their international plan was already in swing.

Wal-Mart current runs stores in fifteen countries internationally. We looked at three countries that were not already on the international list, and concluded to continue research on three countries. These countries are UAE, Switzerland, and Ireland. The UAE was selected because of it's unbelievable population growth and strong economic status, even though they have no more sand left in their country. Switzerland was chosen because of it's strong economy as well as it's central location with regards to Europe as a whole. Finally, we chose to investigate Ireland because they live a lifestyle similar to that in the United States.

Currently on the project, we have made a lot of progress. "Bout near done with the thing. Revision is still key to being able to present this proposal professionally. All of the content is there. We still need to cite our sources correctly and just do some minor adjustments. One main component that has not been added to the project is figures and graphs that will only strengthen our logos. Sal did a great job on the design incorporating Wal-Mart colors and everything. Mahon and I have no real artistic ability, and came up with a little design in Microsoft Word, but Sal recommend another program, Microsoft Publisher, and did what I think is a superb job.

Overall our teamwork and performance has been on point. There is a calm and smooth atmosphere within the group, which I believe helps us to almost know what the others are thinking, so we can giver assistance when a group member needs to expand on an idea. We are in the final stages of the project and will finish strong, that is after Thanksgiving.
